How are brow Lift and forehead lift performed?
Different areas of the face age at variable rates and are mainly influenced by genetic factors. But, the upper third of the face (forehead) ages faster. As the elasticity of the skin decreases, the forehead, temples and eyebrows come down. If the ptosis or drooping eyebrows are severe, the person may also have visual impairment. The crow’s feet lines appear due to the force of gravity and the frequent contraction of the annular muscle of the mouth. Deep forehead wrinkles are caused by repeated attempts to raise the eyebrows and contract the frontalis muscle.
Brow lifting or or forehead lift are the most popular aesthetic procedures. There are several ways in cosmetic surgery to lifting brow and forehead.
The methods for brow and forhead lifting are as follows:
- Endoscopic brow and forehead lift:
One method of forehead eyebrow lift is endoscopic eyebrow and forehead lift, which is made between three to five small incisions in the hairline and on the scalp.
A surgical telescope (endoscope) mounted on the camera, and surgical instrument is then passed through the incisions and no full skin lift is required to see the areas under the skin and under the eyebrow tissue. The surgeon can see the muscles and areas under the skin through the camera on the endoscope. The plastic surgeon can then remove the subcutaneous tissue from the bone and remove the wrinkles by pulling on the skin. If necessary, extra tissue or skin can be removed. This surgery can eliminate wrinkles on the forehead and drooping eyebrows. At the end of the work, the incisions are sutured. Over time, the skin rejoins the underlying tissues. Endoscopic lift is a good option for slight to medium drooping eyebrows and forehead lines.

Internal Browpexy ( Transblepharoplasty )
Blepharoplasty, which is a type of eyelid surgery, is also recommended for mild ptosis brow. This minimally invasive surgical procedure is possible through the same blepharoplasty incision and does not require another incision. The disadvantages of this surgical method are that it is not always effective for everyone due to its minimally invasive nature. This cosmetic surgery is performed by making only one incision in the upper eyelid. In this method, by removing the skin of the upper eyelid, the eyebrows are fixed in position and the eyelids are stretched downwards to a minimum.
- Brow lift and forehead lift by Filler injection and BoNT
Using a combination of BoTN and filler injections, the brows can be reshaped and lifted significantly. Essentially, with age, the volume (fat) of the face decreases, especially in the area around the eyes. This reduction in fat causes drooping eyelids and brows. Drooping eyebrows and cheeks are one of the most common effects of aging. Drooping eyelids and eyebrows begin in the outer half of the eye.
Botox and filler injections can treat wrinkles, sagging and sagging skin in the eyebrow area. Fillers contain significant amounts of collagen, which can be rejuvenated by injection under the skin (for example, under the eyebrows). However, Botox is actually a weakened botulinum toxin that causes temporary muscle paralysis.
Improper injection of filler can cause drooping eyelids or asymmetrical eyebrows. Therefore, it is very important to choose an experienced doctor to inject Botox or fillers (skin fillers).
Fillers or Botox do not have a permanent shelf life and after a period of several months, the gel needs to be re-injected. One of the benefits of using these skin fillers is preventing more wrinkles and sagging skin. Injecting the gel under the eyebrows is one of the methods by which the eyebrows can be shaped to the desired shape.

Best candidates for brow lift and forehead lift:
Most candidates for eyebrow lift or forehead lift are those who are unhappy with the sagging of the muscles above the face, which makes their faces look tired and angry. This common sign of aging usually appears after the age of 40, although heredity and sun exposure can accelerate drooping and wrinkled eyebrows.
Loosening of the forehead muscles causes drooping eyelids, which can be corrected with eyelid surgery or eyebrow lift. Only an experienced plastic cosmetic surgeon can determine which method will work best.
But, in most cases, having an eyebrow lift reduces drooping eyes as well as forehead wrinkles and frown lines.
